If you’re interested, John Hawkins live blogged it. I have an opinion about the larger context, but I’ll save that for later.

After viewing the debate live, I could not help but see an inplicit difference in responses to some very tough questions. It appears that either McCain had foreknowledge of the questions asked are he is one hell of an interviewee on extremely tough questions. There was no pondering, no hesitation he was as smooth as a snake-oil vendor. I’ve seem previous interviews and he is just not that gifted. so what’s up Rick Warren?. Surprise! Surprise! obviously I wasn’t the only human on the planet that saw through this farce, I watch a newscast and the same questions are being asked, Did McCain receive an unfair advantage and a copy of questions beforehand. I’m African-Amer. and I haven’t decided to whom my vote will go to, but I would like to be able to make an intelligent decision. So come on guys is there no integrity left in our country, and Rick Warren find out who in your camp dropped the ball on this one, and turned a good event into just another political Who shot John? sorry, no pun intended. This certainly makes one wonder if even Evangelicals can bring some semblance of integrity to a political system that is seemingly mired in deception, abberant behavior and dishonesty and most notably broken beyond repair.England cried “God Save The Queen”. I cry,” God Save Us All”!

    Dear Debra,
To say that McCain was given the questions and Obama was “screwed” over in this debate is absurd! If you watch CNN, NBC, or MSNBC you should have a pretty good idea that Obama very rarely gets the short end of the stick. The liberal mainstream media in this election is so biased its not even funny(not that it ever could be, its total bull). Either way, to question ethics in support of a democrat is not very practical if you notice the recent affairs and scandals, the democrats really don’t have an impressive track record(Spitzer, Clintons, Edwards). McCain flat out has a much more experienced staff and experienced life under his belt than Obama, and you can’t debate that! He shut Obama down in this election and as always Obama maintained his “cool” image and talked around the questions as slyly as possible. No one doubts Obama is a smart man however, but at this level just like in the All-Star baseball game, they’re all incredible at what they’re doing, from the starting pitcher to the right fielder who plays the bottom of the ninth inning. McCain, as you said “he’s not that gifted”, is extremely intelligent politically and who knows, maybe he did his research and re-read his notes and was ready for the debate while Obama went into it figuring he’s leading the polls and he’s “cool”. That seems a little more logical then assuming Warren gave McCain a copy and not Obama, I think the Obama campaign would have caught that one before they went on air.
