Woodlands update

September 13, 2008 / 7:35 pm • By Dr. Melissa Clouthier

Hi all! This is my first post from my cell phone to wordpress, aka my blog. See if it works.

I don’t have power. No one in the Woodlands does. I hear that South Houston of all places does though, so go figure.

It rained all day. This was a negative for flooding–there is even waahed out streets in my neighborhood. A couple kids were canoimg down the street two streets over.

The positive is that it kept temps cool so we are still comfortable. Tomorrow though will stink, literally. It gets musty quick.

Cell service must be overloaded b/c had trouble today. Finally called my mom this afternoon.

Water pressure is good. We have natural gas water heater and stove. Highly recommended!

Neighbors are in good spirits. Everyone helping to get trees cut and moves and there are hundreds, if not thousands of them. Debris everywhere. I can imagine things getting back to normal quickly if power comes back soon. If not, things will suck sooner rather than later.

Hope this works. I receive your comments in my email. Thanks to all who have kept in touch. Love to all.

Fiends and family, feel free to text or call my land line.

Melissa, so glad to hear things are ok with you. Jeremy’s house didn’t get flooded, and they are thrilled. Sounds like lots to do to get back to ‘normal’. Thanks for taking the time to keep everyone posted.

Good to see you’re OK. I have friends who live in the Clear Lake area whose houses have apparently been flooded. I’ve stayed many times in the Nassau Bay Hilton that KHOU has been holed up in; looks like it has serious damage.

Don’t know if you have heard since your power is out, but there is a boil-water order for Harris County. Take care.

I’m glad you all are ok. We lost power for 2 hurricanes for 5 days each in 2004. I hope you get your power on soon.
