Speaking of crying, Just saw some vapid little princess on Faux news complaining about the newsweek cover of Mooselini. Seems the former beauty (now drama) queen has some wrinkles like the rest of us, and “gosh darnit! it’s just not fair for them to portray her like that!”. Good thing everyone is focused on what’s important…

In any case, I seem to remember some republican sons and daughters running afoul of the law during the last eight years, but my guess is that you weren’t quite complaning as much about that. Seems that when rich white republicans drive drunk, steal etc. it’s just “youth” – you know, just pranks an’ stuff. If this kid did something wrong, then yes, give him the consequences (Bush twins avoided any of course…). Perhaps you could restrain your knee-jerk reaction to label all “typical” democrats as “blame the victim” types – there’s plenty of hypocrisy to go around where that’s concerned. Doing so just makes you look foolish.

Interesting also how they’re trying to turn this into “Republican sons and daughters do wrong and no Republican complain.” This isn’t about the son of a Democrat politician doing wrong. This is about the son of a Democrat politician breaking the law, not just as a personal pecadillo, but in an attempt to sway the election.
Someone is hypocritical here, but it’s not “rich, white Republicans.”

I was refering to the “typical democrat” comment. I guess it’s ok for me to paint repubs as snake handling, book banning, gun crazy military extremists then, right? That’s not baiting? Here’s how I see it: 20% onboth the far left and the far right are wackos. I have known dems who advocate what is basically tantamount to a “free” lunch for all, going easy on hardened criminals and banning any car larger than a Yugo. On the right, I have known folks who really do want to ban books, institute prayer in school, proactively wipe out muslims (yes, really…) and jail people for legal forms of expression. Both these extremes are repugnant. I have been embarassed more than once by members of my own party, which is why I am now registering independent. I figure the majority of Americans agree on most issues. For example, many of my friends and colleagues, both left of center and right agree that the bailout is corporate welfare. However I have heard some real lefty’s in my area defend it as help for the poor who are losing their homes, and I have heard financial planners defend it as keeping credit liquid for business. The real truth that has played out (so far) is that the companies that are receiving the welfare momma money are not passing it down (not yet) and to add insult to injury the execs are taking lavish vacations (AIG). My long winded point is that there is way too much of a tendency to lump the behaviors of an extreme group on either side in with the rest of that self-identified group. Personally, I put most of the blame on the media (red state vs. blue state b.s. is a prime example). The state where I live (CA) is a known lib haven, but the county that I am in is slightly more repub. in registered voters, and I find myself in agreement with people on both “sides” about 90% of the time. CA gets a HUGE bum rap as the land of fruits and nuts, but again it is the minority that the media is focusing on (ok, along with a lot of illegals…). I’m simply tired of everyone on BOTH sides demonizing the other party because of the actions of a few screwballs. BTW, Jeb’s offspring was also resisting arrest – still a crime where I live.
