You are so off the mark it isn’t funny. There are many on the left who disagree with “the one” and several of his proposed policies. I for one am not happy that he is the dem choice this fall, as are many other “lefties”. He is too far removed from the center for my taste, but he will be the lesser of two evils as far as I’m concerned. You should refrain from making blanket statements – you just look foolish.

Mark G. I agree we don’t need to march in lockstep like the Left. But…

We can disagree on policy and how to implement conservatism – but we don’t need personal attacks on other conservatives. The liberals do that 24/7. If I want to read about how terrible Palin is, why read Parker or Noonan? She’s attacked every day in the NYT & on CBCABCNBCPBSNPRMSNBCCNN.

Noonan doesn’t have a policy disagreement with Palin she’s just joining the liberals in attacking her on a personal basis.

For RCOcean. What I mean about Pat Buchannan is that he is a lot like Miss. Noonan. Old school. He, and her, are past their prime. And, in 1992, I VOTED for Pat against G.H.W. Bush in the California GOP primary. I think that there is a generational crack showing in all of this. But, one thing is at least conservatives debate. It is absolutly amazing how there is no dissent on the left regarding The One and his policies and where they would take the United States.

Are people who work overtime to have enough money for their kid’s band camp Right Wing Nut Jobs?

Are people who read the Wall Street Journal as opposed the New York Times Right Wing Nut Jobs?

Are people who join the military Right Wing Nut Jobs?

Are people who work hard, go home to their families, and drink a beer with their burger Right Wing Nut Jobs?

So was chiropractor school this easy? The answer to numbers five and six is yes; the answer to the rest is no and that’s why most of ‘em are voting Democrat this time. We’ve all had it with Republicans who pose the questions above as so many straw men trying to prove a – false – point. But nice job at playing your usual divisive card.

David, I understand, but I still say it’s not “courage”. Hollywood: it’s self preservation, not courage. Anyway, I was taught to stand up for what I believe in, yes, sometimes the consequences are harsh, but it all works out in the end.

Funny how the Pat haters have to attack him no matter what the subject. Buchanan has been incredibly supportive of Palin. He is the exact opposite of Brooks/Kristol/Frum/Will/Barnes who are only talked about because the Liberals and Rupert Murdoch give them high profile gigs.

He is despised by DC/NYT elite even though he was responsible for making Noonan a prominent speech writer under Reagan. BTW, he also gave Mona Charen a job – of course she repaid by favor by calling him an anti-semite in 1992. Just one reason why Al Hunt and Mark Shields couldn’t stand her.

Mer..very good, but it *does* require courage to go against the opinions of the majority–how much courage is required depends on the individual situation.

If you’re a Hollywood actor or screenwriter, and the cost of publicly supporting McCain is serious damage to your career, a fairly high level of courage is required. If you’re a tenured professor of literature at a typical university, some courage is required, but not as much as in the first situation.
