Not So Deep Thoughts

Can we talk about Obama’s drug history and is it relevant?

Will Obama’s “suspended” campaign help or hurt him? And do you view him flying to Hawaii as a “stunt”?

Do you expect an Obama landslide?

If Obama by some conspiracy nut theory loses, will the stock market go up or down?

I’ll be in transit today, so I’ll catch up with you all tonight.

Can we talk about Obama’s drug history and is it relevant?

It’s relevant as the same liberals who claimed George W. Bush’s rumored cocaine use was enough to disqualify him from office are stunningly silent about the guy (Obama) who admits cocaine use in his first autobiography.

Will Obama’s “suspended” campaign help or hurt him? And do you view him flying to Hawaii as a “stunt”?

It’s a stunt meant to gin up sympathy since the polls are tightening.

Do you expect an Obama landslide?

No, honestly at this point I think, barring ACORN vote fraud, that McCain pulls it out. Joe The Plumber has made Obama expose himself as a Marxist, and now the news of Obama’s “New Party” membership, and the fact that he shared an office with Ayers for 3 years is starting to get noticed.

If Obama by some conspiracy nut theory loses, will the stock market go up or down?

Up. The stock market went up over 400 points when McCain tightened the polls, and the market crashed badly when Obama opened up a double digit lead. Investors aren’t stupid, they remember history and how Hoover got the country into the Great Depression by raising taxes, and see that Obama’s plan is economic death for the country.

I’d like to ask you a question, Dr.

Have you ever gotten a job from a poor guy?

Can we talk about Obama’s drug history and is it relevant?
Of course not. He is “The One” and may not be questioned on anything.

Will Obama’s “suspended” campaign help or hurt him? And do you view him flying to Hawaii as a “stunt”?
Zero net effect. I will give BO a limited benefit of the doubt on the assumption that his grandmother is more seriously ill than has been implied. On the other hand, there’s no doubt at all this has been calculated for it’s political benefit.

Do you expect an Obama landslide?
No. I expect the undecideds are going to fall hard in either direction. The winner will collect in excess of 300 electoral votes. I believe they will go with McCain.

If Obama by some conspiracy nut theory loses, will the stock market go up or down?
UP — However, the stock market is going to continue in a cycle of extreme movement in both directions for several more months – typical behavior of a bear market at the bottom of the cycle.

May your journey be safe and uneventful.

Can we talk about Obama’s drug history and is it relevant?

We MUST. Using HIS own word of course !

Will Obama’s “suspended” campaign help or hurt him? And do you view him flying to Hawaii as a “stunt”?

Will Mc Cain suspend his campaign in honor of Obama suspending HIS campaign ! ? Will it hurt The Big “O” ? No. I suspect HE is spending campaign funds since this is a campaign stunt.

If Obama by some conspiracy nut theory loses, will the stock market go up or down?

No, it won’t change much. Those who can read have already taken the pre-Obama capital gain sales. Now, down the road when Congress starts punishing achievers there will be a gradual sell-off ’til the DOW hit 900 say in about 2-3 years.

Do you expect an Obama landslide?

I expect rioting in the streets if HE isn’t elected. I expect court case after court case if HE isn’t elected. Landslide, no. Enough votes will have been forged to put HIM over the top – many hours after the polls close.

Optimist = someone with a distorted view of reality

Pessimist = someone who takes no pleasure in being right all the time

“Do you expect an Obama landslide?”

    Nope. Not at all.

Early voting began yesterday in my neighborhood, and I decided to go today to select a straight Republican ticket, and then page through the ballot to see if by some strange circumstance there may be a Democrat that did NOT have a Republican opponent. In that case, if he had ANY opponent at all, that’s who I’d pick, regardless of who he was.

I didn’t REALLY expect to find any Democrats on the ballot that were not opposed by Republicans, but, in fact, I did; a couple of low-level city councilmen who were only opposed by Libertarians. So, it WAS worthwhile paging through the remainder of the ballot after my Straight Republican Party entry. I doubt that I really knocked those two off, but at least I tried.

A LOT of people early voting here (Houston), and I’ve read the same is happening all over Texas; more that twice as many showing up as expected.

More hopeful than ever that the “Silent Majority” I’ve mentioned shows up with a vengeance this year. Can only wait and see.

I’ll go along with everything Naqamel said, though I would have given it to Hussein by a hair(to include fraud, which commie-lib Dems are counting on)only a few days ago.

I’ll also agree w/ wdnorman’s definitions of optimist and pessimist…

  • Mr. Chuckles

His drug use is relevant only if it is still going on (like Bush’s drinking…)

Campaign suspension won’t do anything. Hope everyone questions your motives when one of your relatives gets sick.

No landslide. It WILL be close.

Stock market is going to be tumultuous no matter who wins. Long term stability will depend on policy and how the rest of the world reacts to it since there is so much foreign investment now. We don’t even own this country anymore – just like when I was stationed in Hawaii in the 80′s. It may have been a state, but the Japanese owned 90% of Honolulu real estate and were buying up huge tracts of land before their implosion. Saudis own 7% of t-bills, Chinese own much more. Credit derivatives have a huge international investment (54 TRILLION), and when those unwind, hold onto your asses…God bless all that deregulation, eh? Everything just “evens out” with the “free market” right?

No matter who wins, there is a lot of damage in this country that the next exec will inherit. 8 years of neocon rule have screwed everything royally – no denial. There are so many striking similarities to the Japanese meltdown it’s not funny. Paulson says that we are “investing” the bailout in real estate and that we will get it back, maybe even with some ROI. Don’t count on it – Japan has still never fully recovered from it’s crash, and there is no economic stimulus on the near horizon that will raise home prices. Jobs? Nope. Interest rate reductions? Already low. Foreign investors? Running like rats from a ship.

Those of you who are Obama haters should probably pray for his election, since there is no way that he can remedy the damage from Bush in 4 years. He is probably doomed to failure. McCain won’t be able to repair it either, and he will suffer the same one-term fate as Bush Sr. who had to raise taxes to cover Reagan’s spending. Either way, I sure wouldn’t want the job (nobody’s asking anyway…).
