Can We Call Barack Obama A Socialist Now?

October 27, 2008 / 9:57 am • By Dr. Melissa Clouthier

Please note that it’s not whether redistribution of wealth is even the right thing to do, but how best to redistribute wealth.

Investor’s Business Daily calls Obama’s beliefs “stealth socialism“. It’s not so stealthy if you have eyes to see. And here, you’ll find that Obama’s ideology mirrors what his father hoped to achieve in Kenya.

Glenn Reynolds says that ” this is pretty standard stuff in large parts of legal academia.” Well, if that’s the case, I have an idea. Since the Dems are so desirous of putting in a draft or mandatory military service, I suggest that all Academics prove their worth in private industry for, say five years, before they wax theoretical in institutions of higher learning. The lack of real-life experience absolutely warps the mind. (And no, “community organizing” is not real life experience. It is still working on someone else’s dime.)

Actually at this point we can not only call him a socialist, but a pinko commie as well.

  • Glynn W.

Yeah, Bushies only like it when wealth is redistributed to billionaires. The idea that this innocuous interview would manufacture outrage is laughable. I cannot wait till Americans elect Obama to clean the grime from the White House. He is going to need a lot of soap.

    Not long now . . .

    Obama 08!

  • Chalmers

So Glynn, you are saying that Bush taxed the poor and gave the money to the wealthy? Didn’t he just reduce taxes for everyone? I mean, only in an Obama tax plan can someone that pays zero taxes actually get more money “back.”

  • Glynn W.

    Chalmers.

    Please read this several times.

There was no Bush tax cut. There was no Bush tax cut. There was no Bush tax cut.

Now, there was a Bush tax DEFERMENT. Bush used the good faith and credit of middle America to borrow money and give tax rebates to higher income individuals. Bush compounded this fiscal folly by invading Iraq, and unlike any wartime President of the modern era, instead of asking non-military families to sacrifice – he put the entire cost of his debacle on a credit card.

Your credit card. And the repo man’s on the line.

Today, the cost of this fiscal absurdity is crashing down on our heads. Pick up a paper. In order for Bush cronies to loot the treasury, Bush has stolen from your children’s future.

Please understand. The money is spent. If I borrow your money and give it to Fred so that he can build a sauna in his dirigible – Fred may be very pleased with the bargain. He may talk about how you stimulated the economy. He may explain how his dirigible expenditures will “trickle down”. Fred might even praise you as “Working Joe”.

But when the bill comes due – all you are is Joe the Chump.

    Glynn,

So the housing debacle was caused by the Bush tax deferments? Not consumers that took on more house/debt than they could afford. Not bankers that were busy buying and selling worthless notes? No, just W.

His tax cuts. His wars. His deregulation. Has there even been a legislative branch for the last 2, 4, 6 or 8 years? Remember, the only folks with lower approval ratings than Bush would be our US Congress.

    Ummm, Chalmers . . .

This may require some study. But do look up and see who was in charge of Congress for most of Bush’s term. You will find that it rhymes with GOP.

Bush’s congressional minions carried out the agenda of their Master.

And we are paying the horrible price.

The housing collapse is simply the symptom of the larger disease. What we are afflicted with right now is far larger than a housing crisis. The real problem is that our country has been run like a banana republic. Investors don’t have confidence that we have the tools to extingish the fire. And we don’t. Eight years of incomptent leadership has left us past the brink of collapse.

See, Chalmers . . . leadership matters. And while you are researching, look up the “unitary executive theory” which was the worldview the criminals imposed to further their reign of incompetence.

It will take all the Kings Horses and all the Kings men to have a chance of putting this fiasco together again. President Obama will have an enormous job to do under the best of times.

Too bad the Righties will be gunning for him from day one.

P.S. Bush’s tax deferment? That what you call, “wealth redistribution”. . .

Well, at least under Obama and Pelosi and Reid, we’ll all get to chip in for Glynn’s medications.

I bought Levi 501 shrink to fit for about $3.25 in 1955/56… Now I saw at the local store [less at Walmart of course] that they are $40.oo… Money becomes worth less and less… President Nixon took us Off the gold standard in Aug, 1971 … Is this the time in history when our system breaks for good? Having lived through the best of financial times in history, it has to happen someday… OUr currency can not devalue forever… Senator Obama will hasten this devaluation [in my opinion] with his unaffordable social agenda…
