Barack’s Other Woman?

Barack’s Other Woman?
I don’t know that his voters would care if he had a harem.

Tread carefully here; John McCain has admitted publicly that his first marriage ended due to his infidelities.

Some may say this was so long ago that it doesn’t matter, but it happened after he was a POW. If you are persuaded about his character because of his time as a POW, then you can’t ignore his actions after that experience.

Personally, I don’t think there is a strong link between marital fidelity and one’s ability to run the country effectively (at least I hope not since so many politicians seem to run around on their spouses). If someone wants to turn this into a character issue for Obama, however, then they must also examine McCain’s indiscretions and apply the same standards of behavior.

Yes, nevermind that McCain dumped his sick wife. That’s not a character flaw, is it? No, let’s prop up this little turd of a story with more accusations than answers a week before the election. Nice try, no cigar…

  • MINA

FROM 1965 TO THE PRESENT divorce in the U.S. has risen by approxamately 133%. McCain was one of them, so what. Check the record before he went to Vietnam he had been married a mere two years, not much time for young people to really get to know each other. You can also google and find McCain’s divorce settlement which was very generous. He and his wife also have a amicalble relationship to this day. Lets not overlook PTSD which may have affected his relationship, or as many real combat vets will affirm, a heightened sense of awareness and alertness, to include sexual drive. Suddenly his x wife appears to be the only one according to the liberal hypocritical point of view who suffered any damage during McCain’s captivity. Bafoons all of you!!!

    MINA,

I’m not jumping on McCain for his divorce, or for his unfaithfulness for that matter. I’m only saying that if anyone wants to suggest that Obama has cheated on his wife (and this story seems dubious), then they need to apply the same scrutiny to McCain.

Moreover, I’d be more willing to buy the PTSD argument if he had a slip up or two, but this was a clear pattern of behavior that took place over many months.

The terms of his divorce settlement or his current relationship with his ex-wife notwithstanding, McCain admitted that he cheated, end of story.

Both of my grandparents served in WW2 in the European theater. Both saw a lot of combat, one of them has film footage that he still doesn’t want anyone to see. I guarantee that they had PTSD, they just didn’t have a name for it yet. They stayed married after their combat, and yes, they had not been married long before the war as well.

I’m sure McCain’s ex and he have an amicable relationship. As a high profile politician, I’m sure he pays her a hell of a lot of money to keep it that way too.

The point is that this story about Obama is still supposition built upon supposition. Anyone can be accused of something, even you. Doesn’t quite make it true though until all the facts are in. McCain has already proven that he is willing to cheat. In Fact, he seems to have a problem with women in general (witness him calling Cindy a c*** in public after she teased him. Most men know that’s the A-bomb of insults. More solid judgement…).

    Matt,

I think you make a good point, actually. I do think it would matter to conservative voters if McCain was found to be running around on Cindy in the last few years. And the only reason it would matter to the Obama campaign is that Michelle made her disrespectful comment about Hillary Clinton “not being able to keep her man.” To find out that Obama had a lady on the side would undermine her self-righteousness and also the solid family image.

Would it be a deal-breaker? I doubt it. And furthermore, Americans are sick of hearing this dirt, I think. The problem with these guys fooling around, though, Mr. Chuckles, is that it opens the up to being black-mailed and coerced. It’s not their personal life that is such the issue, it’s how the indiscretion could be manipulated in their public service.

    Cindy was John’s “Other Woman”.
