The iPhone has some neat features (and I did indeed get one last year after the big price drop), but it's not sufficiently neat to justify standing in line, which is why I did not get the upgrade in July.

In fact, now that I've done without 1) cut and paste, 2) calendar search, and 3) multiple sources of software for about a year now, I ready to move on to a real smart-phone. I have even started carrying my old LifeDrive PDA again, simply because the iPhone is so crippled that it doesn't even have a useful contacts list or calendar-diary.

I'm in the market for something MUCH better, and I have already found about a dozen phones that I think I would definitely prefer to the iPhone. Possible the gPhone, after the initial customer-participation beta testing phase is over.
