    What?? why is it Bombay?? Mumbai was the actual name, the British changed it to Bombay.. All Government did was to change it back to the local name – which also served to give it a Marathi sounding to it.. It was called Mumbai during the days of the Maratha kings before the British conquered India.

    It is funny, non-Indians trying to determine what the names of our towns should be.. U dont see me trying to address New York by a different name..
