Generation Y: Self-Involved, Over-Indulged Babies
Pain in the arse co-workers, I say.

The article was bad enough, but the comments section made me want to vomit. Talk about oochie-coochie pat on the back positivity. I saw one comment on how silly her post was and the person made some great points. There’s nothing wrong with being positive (I suppose…I’m pretty cynical myself), but when posts are dripping, it just seems pretty phony. I work with this generation a lot and I can honestly say that they are extremely self-absorbed to the point where they forget the easiest of things. Ms Wu may talk about all of the wonders of job-jumping, but all I see from that is unreliability to stay in a job when things get tough.

I still think that reality is going to slam them in the face when they actually have to live and compete against other countries who are up and coming.

Just another generation in a long series of spoiled Americans.

This article makes 6 major points:

    We crave personal development
    We pursue unconventional paths
    We value company culture
    We’re not afraid to ask
    We embrace transparency
We just want to do what we love

    Translation:

    ME CRAVE PERSONAL DEVELOPEMENT
    or…me love self-gratification.
    ME PERSUE UNCONVENTIONAL PATHS
    or…me easily confused.
    ME VALUE COMPANY CULTURE
    or…friends-with-benefits is neat-o.
    ME NOT AFRAID TO ASK
…for more money, me maxed all credit
cards, cell phone bill is over-due.
    ME EMBRACE TRANSPARENCY
…only when all other options have
    been exhausted.
ME JUST WANT TO DO WHAT ME LOVE
    ..OMG! ME LUV ME MOA!

And I thought my generation of “Boomers” had mucho character flaws. We were the Pioneers!
