Don’t Be Like THEM

Ooops! I did it again. Don’t Do It says Andy Levy:

DON’T apologize to foreigners and say things to them like, “I didn’t vote for Obama,” or “He’s not MY president.”

DON’T say or do everything in your power to drive this country apart and then claim you want unity when it’s your guy in power. This is like the convicted felon who conveniently finds God when he’s up for parole.

But I don’t wanna be a grown-up. I want to whine like a baby like Andy Sullivan. Ooops, I did it again.

    Andy or no Andy, anytime there is conflict of method between Rush, and *nice, polite conservatives*, Rush is RIGHT and everyone else can take a long walk off a short pier.

    Not calling COMMUNIST pervert criminal traitors what they actually are is what got us where we are today.

    I want a President who will do what’s right for this country. And if that doesn’t happen, you bet I’ll let it be known that I don’t support him.

    I think there’s a difference between “whining” and saying, this guy’s a leftist numbnut (which he is). Personally, I look forward to bashing Obama every chance I get.

    I wish your commenters would get their own blogs. They seem to get it, even if you don’t. You, and your pal “Andy” are wrong, dead wrong. That advice is what got the GOP where it is now, and what got Bush 20% approval ratings. Get off our side, please. You’re not helping.

    Doc, I don’t think that’s what Melissa meant. All she’s trying to say is that political disagreements do not excuse incivility, and just because the other side believes otherwise, that doesn’t make it right. For the next four years (barring extraordinary circumstances), Obama is my President. I’m not thrilled about it, but that’s the way it works. If we try to claim otherwise, then we have destroyed the basis for democracy.

    That does not mean that we give stupid and/or evil leftist ideas a pass. We call ‘em like we see ‘em. That hasn’t changed. But it would be better if we could see less of attacking the person and more of attacking the idea. Now, some people like William Ayers have proven themselves, through their words and actions, to be so despicable that they deserve to be attacked on a personal level. But it behooves us not to render that judgement until we have some pretty solid evidence.
