Nancy Pelosi’s Ovarian Obsession

January 26, 2009 / 12:38 pm • By Dr. Melissa Clouthier

Honestly, I haven’t paid one lick of attention to the dingbat Nancy Pelosi and her birth control ideas. When my mom sends me an email screeching about it, though, I pay attention. That means Nancy’s nonsense has hit the mainstream. Via Drudge, here’s what San Fran Nan said:

STEPHANOPOULOS: Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus?

PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children’s health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those – one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So no apologies for that?

PELOSI: No apologies. No. we have to deal with the consequences of the downturn in our economy.

Yes, it’s outrageous. Yes, it’s stupid. But hello, voters, that’s the kind of legislation that gets drummed up when Democrats control everything–stupid and outrageous.

And it’s just the beginning. Next, we’ll be hearing about the Democrats one-child policy. Well, we all have to make sacrifices, right? The economy needs to be saved, right? Less people, better world.

I suggest two things: holding the Republicans feet to the fire to fight every stupid piece of law created and keeping a sense of humor. Like I said on Twitter this weekend, it’s nice to be clear about our mission for once: gum up the works at every opportunity. And then, come up with sensible alternatives and sound like the grown-ups on TV. People have forgotten how crazy Democrats truly are when they’re in power. It’s only taken a week to remind everyone.

Dingbat? Is that the dumbest vegetable in the plant kingdom?

What a way to encourage cultural suicide. Ok, great, the West (Europe’s pretty much gone that way already, given their demographics) has decided not to have babies. Unfortunately, the Muslim world is popping out kids out like there’s no tomorrow. Sooner or later, there will be a tipping point. Can anyone else see where this is going?

“Next, we’ll be hearing about the Democrats one-child policy. ”

    Ahh, slippery slope “reasoning” …

Why are anti-abortion folks against contraception? What could prevent abortion better than stopping pregnancy? Wouldn’t those gov’t dollars be best spent stopping the murder of children?

That’s great Mat. Look up the Immigration Restriction League, and you’ll see that this sort of idiotic birth rate extrapolation has been going on forever. Back then it was about the ginnies and the Irish taking over and screwing things up, but it’s the same tired mix of racism and assumption of linearity that it was back then.

Oh, how I pine for the old days. Now give me my shilalee, you nitwit.

It’s pro-life, not “anti-abortion.” And the problem with contraception isn’t contraception. It’s the fact that the left is busy planting it into our children’s minds that sex should be without consequence, and that sex at any time, for any reason, no matter what your circumstance, it perfectly okay. Then they toss out, “But use contraception” as if that will solve all ills.
It doesn’t, it hasn’t, and it never will.

Like I said, Trish – you anti-abortion people. Also like I said, many anti abortion groups are against contraception, regardless of the reason you give for it.

But should that even matter? If you believe that millions of babies are being slaughtered daily, shouldn’t anything that can help prevent an abortion from happening be utilized? I just don’t get it.

YOu guys read into things a little too much. It’s like being at a Freudians Conference or something.
