    Melissa et. al. -
As a lifelong conservative, I appreciate your efforts and those of your colleagues in attempting to advance conservative ideas.
However, I could not be more dismayed and disgusted at the recent RNC election of Michael Steele. An obvious ‘moderate’ (another name for a weak-kneed liberal without the courage to be a democrat), Steele will predictably lead the GOP to only more failures. The biggest thing that has caused the GOP to fail is the misguided ‘Big Tent’ concept – which basically demands abandonment of any fundamental principles. Thus, the two Bushies who utterly failed to accomplish any real conservative agenda at all, instead increasing big government and welcoming their tyrannical successors Clinton and Obama to the White House.
I have known some of these ‘big tent’ Republicans for a long time. Without exception, they have no real principles at all, and are more afraid of ‘losing voters’ (i.e. appearances) than of losing touch with American fundamentals. That is why there has been no single principle on which the GOP would ever stand truly united. In other words, the GOP stands, and has stood, for nothing at all. The nomination of losers like Bob Dole, Bush 1 & 2, and recently John McCain, is the result of ‘big tent’ indecision.
The election of Michael Steele only shows that there is still no desire to have a real conservative party – only a pretend party. One must ask – are the Republicans on the ‘take’ too? Is that why they really don’t have any fight? Why haven’t they ‘walked out’ of Congress? Why haven’t they called a spade a spade? Why did the McCain crowd engage in childish, spiteful attacks on Sarah Palin, the only decent candidate on the horizon?
Either Steele goes in some kind of immediate grass-roots ‘recall’ petition, or the GOP is truly a lost cause.
You wanted ‘input of *new* ideas’ – here is the first, basic one:
RECALL STEELE NOW, or fold the GOP ‘Tent’.
    –and a second:
GET RID of Specter, Snowe, and Collins – forbid them to run again as Republicans.
    We need STEEL, not Soft-Steele.

What if we said…we want everyone’s vote, but this is a Conservative Party. You don’t bring wine and spats to a football bowl game, or your paint-stained work shirt to your child’s graduation. Whatever parts of you that are conservative, bring those. Leave the rest at home.

If you want to attack the Left from a non-conservative angle, we will consider helping you, but that is an alliance of convenience.

    1) Make the first entry on “RNC” a recruiting
tool. I shouldn’t have to go down to page 7 to get here.
    2) List were we can go to particiate in addressing our health care questions with politicans. Give time, location, etc.
    3) Prepare and sell “ARM BANDS” with the American Flag on it. Use the profits to support conservative candidates.
