It’s useful to remember that the original Pied Piper of Hamlin was hired to rid the town of rats. He used his piping skills to lure all the rats into the river where they drowned.

I wonder if Obama’s Media Mice know that.

But wait! There’s more. The town fathers of Hamlin reneged on their contract and refused to “pay the piper.” (That IS where that expression comes from)

They learned the hard way that you always have to “pay the piper”. He took his revenge on the children of Hamlin. He lured the children out of town and down into a cave. They were never seen again.

Is there a moral for the rest of us in that story?
