Sarah Palin Steps Down, Earth Continues To Turn On Its Axis

July 28, 2009 / 9:33 am • By Dr. Melissa Clouthier

Bush Derangement Syndrome seems like a head cold compared to the Palin Hatred. Palin Hatred is like a full-blown mental swine flu. I fear it may be a slate clearer for the Democratic Party.

Perhaps the Left could take this Sarah-free moment and consider the power their loathing, and the underlying fear, gives Sarah Palin. Their complete lack of objectivity, their inability to actually hear what she’s saying, their tone-deafness to her resonance with a huge segment of the American people, limits them. David Frum and all you D.C. insider Republicans walking around with a hoity toity corncob securely wedged might want to consider too, your mind blindness.

Sarah Palin stepped down, but she is, I’m guessing, about to walk into the lower 48 states. Maybe by the time she gets down here, everyone can calm down. Somehow, with her fighting words igniting more passion, I doubt it.

Even the RINO’s are scared $#$%less by her, because she can BYPASS their “decision making leadership role” (i.e. – where they tell us who we should support – i.e.e. McCain).

Bill Whittle (as usual) penned one of the best essays on tPalin I’ve ever seen..

At least fifteen ethics complaints had been leveled against Governor Palin, and all of them have been dismissed as baseless. But that’s beside the point, isn’t it? Decent people, like most of you out there, probably don’t appreciate just how easy it is to destroy someone of integrity if you have no integrity of your own.

Here’s how it works. Fifteen assorted bloggers and miscreants of various stripes launch unsubstantiated ethics complaints against the Governor of Alaska, who, because of Alaska state law, is not immune from having to fight them. Fifteen charges of corruption – no matter whether they are true or not – means that the public hears nothing but the words “Palin” and “Corruption” being solemnly reported by the press. Even the phrase “cleared of corruption charges” makes that subconscious connection.

And that’s all it takes: false accusations. Consider this:>/i>”

    Sarah Palin = 1, Saul Alinsky = 0

Sarah recognized that her adversaries — from the dirt-digging thugs on the ground to the fancy lawyers and their bosses behind the curtain — were soldiers in an Alinskyesque, Cloward-Piven-inspired army of “community organizers” out to destroy her and the small-government, free-market principles she stands and fights for by sowing discontent from within the system. Understanding their modus operandi, she outfoxed them, quoting Gen. MacArthur as she exited victorious stage right [via goparchitect]:

We are not retreating; we are advancing in another direction.

I think my favorite thing about this is the disappointed knuckleheads that love to hate her. Now, they will still attack, but it will ring even more hollow. The, “I don’t know why I don’t like her, but I just know she is stupider than me,” crowd can now suck a big…

I’m a liberal Democrat and want to comment on Sarah Palin. Whereas “Bush Derangement Syndrome” was as real as the developing “Obama Derangement Syndrome” I think that many people on the right misunderstand the left’s views of Sarah Palin.

There is a small but vocal group of primarily feminists who really do strongly dislike (ok, hate!) Sarah Palin to the point of irrationality. I’d compare this bunch to the “birthers”. Depending on your ideological bias they may mean well but they
    are fringe-ish.

Most of us progressives don’t harbor much animosity AT ALL towards Sarah Palin. We just don’t take her seriously as a national figure. The idea that liberals “fear” her is waaaaaaay off base. Way way way. My fear of Sarah Palin being president is literally zero. An unpleasant (to conservatives) analogy may be Al Franken. Do conservatives fear Al Franken? Is that why they oppose him? No, of course not.

Conservative intellectuals tend to not hold Sarak Palin in high esteem (politically) either. Why? The same reasons as liberal democrats, minus the policies – if we even knew what her views were……

    Garth,

Come on man. Franken is never mentioned. Palin, on the other hand, leads on MSNBC, CBS and other media outlets. She is on the cover of magazines with pictures much less airbrushed than Michelle. The “birthers” aren’t given air time on any legitimate news outlets (right, left or center). The baseless accusations of ethics violations in Alaska were covered on the National news (TV, Radio and Newspaper).

I agree that she should be a non issue, but that is just not reality. Never has a current or former governor not from New York or California received more attention nationally.

She gets magazine covers and endless coverage for the same reason that she was selected as a VP candidate.

one night on Bill Oreilly, Dennis Miller explained the hatred the fem’s felt for Palin in about 15 seconds…he was “spot on” and if anyone still has questions as to why she’s a threat to them (fems or libs)…see Miller’s comments…they must be on YouTube…

eventhough there are lots of criticisms against Sarah Palin, i still admire her. she also did a lot of things in the area of politics specially in Alaska.
