The Left possesses stunning hypocrisy when it comes to being funded by policy groups. Phil Kerpen of Americans for Prosperity explains it all. Please watch. You won’t look at NBC in the same way again:

Report your neighbor if he spreads information! Give me a break. Health care is needed not only for the uninsured but for citizens like myself who have insurance but would like a competitive choice. I do not demonize anyone. Everyone has a right to their opinion even if you disagree. Health care as it stands is not working. We need change and we need change that is not in the corporate interest but the interest of the people. I just don’t understand why the republicans didn’t promote their health care reform while Bush was in office?? Maybe they have no ideas! Maybe they took our surplus and gave us trillions of dollars in debt! Yeah those tax and spend liberals! What a joke! you guys need a new platform!!!!!

Ask yourself why you don’t have that “competitive” choice? Could it be because the GOVERNMENT has put rules in place that prevent that?

Health CARE in this country is the BEST in the world. Period.

If you want prices to go down – GET Gubment OUT of the way. Health care, health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, dentists, eye care – NONE of it is a “right” under the Constitution. A “law” passed, or a “court” decision, or – GASP – even a majority of people WANTING it to be, doesn’t “make” it a right. If you want it in the Constitution – the AMEND it. Don’t FORCE it on me by threatening to raid my bank accounts and/or put me in jail.

Sheral – your education has been lacking in the area of what our Government is suppose to do, and more specifically, what they AREN’T allowed to do.

Okay, so this is an exaggeration on so many levels. First of all, MSNBC wasn’t bailed out, itself. What GE did with its bailout money has nothing to do with what is happening on screen.

Also, it isn’t troubling to me at all that some of those who are outspoken about health care at these town hall meetings have “been successful in politics or involved in business”. What is troubling (and implies some level of “maunfacturing” of a “grass roots” uprising from those opposing health care reform) is that some of these people are lying and claiming they are just normal people not ever associated with the health care industry or the republican party. These claims, on more than one occasion, could not stand up to fact checking. If this isn’t a little bit under handed, then why lie about it? And if you have experience in health care or politics, why not string together an original sentence rather than spreading around false information that is meant to scare seniors. (There is no clause that says seniors would have to have a living will. It is highly suggested, but this position has been supported for OVER TWO DECADES but the left and the right. Face it: it is a good idea to write down how you would like end of life decisions to be made in case you cannot communicate this yourself when the time comes. If you choose not to, that’s on you. No government officials are going to hassle you about it.)

Also, these town hall meetings are meant to be opportunities for discussion. All I’ve seen from the right is protest that drowns out any discussion. This is not a win for the right. The way I see it, it’s almost a forfeit and it is working against them. It does not take any intelligence to make a sign with a phrase on it that you’ve seen on t.v. and just shout over anyone with a different opinion.

Also, it has become almost standard to compare left-wing politicians who we do not agree with to Hitler, etc. This is extreme and has no business in an already heated arguement. When did Hitler support government funded health care reform? Uhhhh … yeah, I am at a loss. So why bring it up when ranting and raving and foaming at the mouth about health care reform?

Seriously, Rachel has it right when she says that these town hall demonstrations are a huge PR campaign from the health care industry. I am sorry if it makes you a tad upset to get called out on that. The reason I watch TRMS is that it is evident that she does her research before making these claims on TV. Her facts are already fact checked by her staff. And when she gets it wrong, she admits it right out. It’s not even a footnote pushed to the end of her show. So if she’s as wrong as you say, I’m sure she’ll clear it up. But it is pretty obvious to me that your scheme got exposed and this video is a scramble to cover it back up.
