Day One At Right Online

August 14, 2009 / 2:43 pm • By Dr. Melissa Clouthier

The difference between Right Online last year and this year? Energy.

Another difference? Concrete information that both new and higher level activists can use to grow their influence.

This year, the activists are extraordinarily interested and attentive. So much has changed in a year. One way to thank Barack Obama: had he actually presided from the center, moved slowly, and been reasoned policy-wise, the Right might still be listless. Not now. Conservatives are energized.

More than that, the people working today are intensely interested in working together. I do believe the lone gun conservative approach is changing. While the Right will not be like the Leftist collective, there will be group dynamics, individuals working together to each contribute a part to the whole. That is happening here and at other conservative events.

If you haven’t attended a meeting like this, I encourage you to do so. While connecting online is wonderful, the human connection reinforces the technological connection.

Topics today:

While I didn’t attend every meeting, I retweeted those who shared information from those sessions. Follow the Right Online Tweet Lounge for constant information.

Right on, Dr. M! I really feel like the bond between conservatives is strengthening. Sure, fear brings us together, and wanting to be left alone to pursue our own dreams may slowly drive us apart, but right now we are mobilizing. What we need to sustain momentum is being more personal with one another. We’re all in this together.
