Reforming A Spork-Wielding Six Year Old

Think the public schools are just fine? I beg to differ. Have you heard about this via Boing Boing:

Zachary Christie is a six-year old student in Newark, Delaware who is facing 45 days in reform school because he brought his new Cub Scout eating utensil to school for lunch. The utensil includes a knife, and this violates the school’s brainlessly, robotically enforced zero-tolerance policy on “weapons on school property.”

Jimmie Bise and Tabitha Hale join me to discuss this stupidity. You might be surprised at their ideas. We also talk about how this relates to socialism….because it does.

    You see, common sense is a sub-aspect of the intelligence facet we call “wisdom” — probably best defined as the ability to learn from experience — your own and that of others by observation or their relation of their tales to you.

    “Smart” is more commonly tied to IQ, which is a measure of what factual information you can learn and how fast you can learn it. Many Lefties have this in spades.

    I put it to you that, if you were seeking a singular predictor of Leftist sentiment in an individual, as opposed to Conservative/Right sentiments, or even Libertarian/Anti-collectivist sentiments, there are few which would work more effectively than a low score on a well-designed “wisdom” test.

    People on the left not only do not learn from experience, they get smug about it. They also attempt to hide it from people by claiming that “what came before doesn’t really matter… we’re going to reform things starting now“.

    Communism? It’s just never been properly implemented (Learning from previous attempts? Pfaugh!)

    People are violent? It’s just because they’re hungry/want something (Learning from children? Pfaugh!)

    This socialist crap only deepened and extended the Great Depression? We just need to do it differently, and care more (Learning from previous blatant failures? Pfaugh!)

    You get the point, I think. Examine your own experience with Lefties. Do some experiments to test the validity of this on them. Odds are, you’ll find I’m correct. The Left is an unstoppable font of Zero wisdom.
