The voucher system is a second-rate idea, duplicitous in intent and based on the supposition that public education is not viable.
The DC school system should be overhauled, and it is being overhauled.
It’s a huge job, but worthwhile.
Quitting on the idea of public education has no social value.

Exactly right, fuster. Your comment is right on the mark, with the usual bs.

The DC voucher system has/had one UNFORTUNATE failing: It actually worked, unlike throwing more and more money at an incompetently run and incompetently taught school system.

If people care about actually teaching kids, then they support vouchers. If they don’t give a damned about kids’ education, they don’t.

Because throwing more money at a failing enterprise — at some point, you stop doing it. Unless you’re the government, in which case it’s not YOUR money so what do you care?
