Why America Hates The Democrats

When I see the Democrats smugly tsk tsk about the “fat cat, enriched bankers” giving themselves bonuses, I marvel. It takes a certain lack of self-awareness to be a liberal to begin with, but this complete mind-blindness regarding public perception is nigh unto political autism. The Democrats are in bed with the “fat cats” and hello? What about Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac bonuses? Really, what about your own inflated salaries?

The American people HATE you. They hate your ideas. They think you’re wrecking the country.

They hate you so much they are willing to give Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat to a Republican and that’s considering that they still hate Republicans.

Why do they hate you? They hate you because you’re hypocritical jerks. Everything you say you hated about Republicans you’re doing, but worse.

Transparency: You said you’d be open about the process. You’re not. You’re holed up with industry titans and leaving the people out.

Political correctness: You excuse words you’d skewer a Republican, or really any American, using. You call the Tea Party people racist, tea baggers. You hold a beer summit. And then, you defend racially motivated remarks by the Majority Leader of the Senate, Harry Reid.

Spending: Barack Obama campaigned on fiscal irresponsibility and now, Democrats are spending like…the thieves they are. Spend. Spend. Spend. And nothing…no jobs, no tangible results, nothing to show for it..except for California.

Pay Caps: Really? Have Congressmen passed a pay cut for themselves? Have the cut pay for federal workers? Have they asked for union concessions? Every private company employee has had to take cuts across the board if he hasn’t already lost his job and these guys get pay raises. [Chart.]

Health Care Reform: People want tweaking. They want a fix to this and a fix to that. They don’t want penalties and more taxes, “Cadillac” or other wise. They do not want the whole industry turned inside out by a government that can’t manage the DMV, the post office, or keeping Americans safe when given a freaking sky written message from the enemy.

And speaking of…what the Republicans did well, you’re screwing up. That’s the perception, anyway.

National Security: In the last year attacks by radical Muslims have increased while President Obama dithered, seemingly waiting to see which way the political winds were blowing…

Oh, and the bowing and scraping before…well, everyone? That doesn’t play well with Americans. Being humble does not equal being a human kick-me sign. And obviously, it doesn’t make America safer or make our enemies like us more.

So, the Democrats ignore the American people and reinforce the cynicism and discontent Americans feel about their leaders. Americans hoped for better. They got a lot of hype and hot air and empty promises.

It’s astonishing how much political capital the Democrats have burned in one year. But they’ve done it. They have managed to provoke the American people and create a vast well of animus they seem unable to see.

President Obama is the same old kind of Chicago-style politician. The Democrats ruling Congress are lost in the throes of power-lust. They don’t care that they’ll lose in the next election. They’re focused on now. They know that every power grab is unlikely to be given away by Republicans because all politicians love power. It is their lifeblood.

The American people hate it and hate them, but they’re not the ones in charge. The Democrats and Obama and the government runs things now. The people might as well shut up.

“I won,” said Barack Obama. He won. America loses.
