If Broadband Is A Right, Then A Car Is A Right

Why do leftists insist on making everything a right? Why can’t they let the market do its thing?

Here’s the deal: When people say that broadband is a right, what they mean is that the United States should pay for the world’s internet access.

If that’s the case, I want the new Google broadband! 1GB/Sec!!! I’m sure that will go over real well at Google – Remember, they are big Obama supporters

We’re having a fundamental difference here about what a “right” is. Half of us think if we have something, and would miss it if for some reason it was taken away, then that’s all it takes to make a “right.” The other half of us think it’s like the right not to be beaten; it is justifiable to invade a country if people are being deprived of this, indeed, reprehensible not to invade a country in which people are being deprived of this.

The danger, of course, is that if every li’l thing is a right then nothing is.
