Go over to Pamela Geller’s place and check this out and then come back.

Why won’t President Obama put his hand over his heart, a sign of devotion, during the National Anthem? Even better, why does President Obama protect the family jewels (symbolically) by interlacing his fingers in front of his crotch when the National Anthem plays?

Does the President feel threatened and therefore feels the need to be self-protective during the National Anthem? Is he just bored and trying to figure out what to do with his hands–anything, but show devotion to his country?

It seems to me that President Obama is not comfortable around any patriotic displays. In fact, it seems that any shows of patriotism make him feel defensive. He seems to want to protect himself from the assault.

Update:

@Techaskew on Twitter noted that it could be just another narcissistic display–that President Obama is taking the National Anthem in as if it’s being played for him. Like he’s the perpetual birthday boy and being sung to every time there’s a big event.

Oh blech. I think that might be more wretch-inducing.

Democrats throw out 12,000 American flags after the DNC. Republicans recycle them.

While watching McCain and Palin’s campaign stop in Colorado, it was reported that the McCain campaign rescued American flags tossed by the DNC after their convention in Colorado. Can you believe I forgot to tell you guys?

Anyway, Cassy Fiano is on the story:

That’s if you ask the DNC, anyway. They couldn’t seem to find a better use for 12,000 American flags used at the convention besides throwing them in a bunch of Hefty bags and leaving them next to a dumpster. Waiting for “storage”, they say… which makes sense and all, because I always leave important things next to the dumpster if I don’t want them thrown away.

12,000 flags in the trash. Here’s more:

But the Denver Post blogger, David Harsanyi, has been paying attention to this story. Here’s an interesting update which pretty much blows Obama’s defense wide open:

I just spoke with the person at Invesco who found the flags and he thinks both sides are exaggerating a bit. The person claims the majority of the bags with flags in them were near the trash, on a dock, and would have been thrown away. The person thinks it was probably an “oversight” by the Democrats rather than any nefarious plot against the flag. But the person doesn’t believe anyone was coming to get them: “The flags were there for a week and a day and no one came looking for them.”

Gateway Pundit says, “One party’s trash, another party’s treasure.” Indeed. Redstate has pictures.

Captain Ed explains how to properly dispose of flags and ends with this common sense:

No one suggested here that it was a “nefarious plot”, and like Harsanyi, I hardly think that Obama would have directed his staff to throw 12,000 American flags in a dumpster. In fact, until Team Obama issued this ludicrous statement, the story didn’t have anything to do with them. However, the obvious carelessness with which the DNCC treated the flags is a rather revealing moment for them, and the lie for people in Obama’s organization.

Who says Republicans don’t recycle?

Would it kill the anchors to pretend to be patriotic?

Maybe it’s just the fact that after three days both fish and avuncular TV anchors stink, but the NBC talking heads have gotten on my last olfactory nerve.

Please go check it out. Thanks!
