Barack Obama, Birther — UPDATED

Barack Obama’s promotional materials, as late as 2007, said he was born in Kenya. Read about it here and then, come back.

Why would he do this? It seems crazy.

Imagine you’re a hippie kid. Your dad is some Kenyan big wig. Your mom is a self-important sociologist doing such important work that you, Barack Obama, must be left home with grandma and grandpa.

You are boring.

You are a mixed race kid on Hawaii in the sixties which is not a big deal because everyone has Hawaiian blood and has mocha skin. You are relatively wealthy and end up at a prep school with other wealthy kids.

You have to justify your existence.

No mom. No dad. Rather provincial, if privileged, Hawaiian life, but lots of questions from peers.

What do you do?

Well, nothing, other than smoke dope, do cocaine (expensive – but no big deal for rich kids), and hang out acting like a badass.

And then, there’s privileged college which you navigate by being mundane and calculated.

You don’t find yourself there. You just find out how you don’t want to self-identify.

Like Elizabeth Warren, it’s really not enough to be a white, privileged kid. Or even a mixed-raced privileged kid.

It takes some resume juicing to be legit in the diversity crowd.

So, you lie.

You pretend you’re a man of the world. You tell people you were born in Kenya. You brag about your time in Indonesia.

You don’t talk about Hawaii.

You don’t talk about your white mother.

You don’t talk about your white grandparents who raised you and gave you a conventional, privileged upbringing.

You pretend you’re part of the victim class.

You pretend you’re worldly wise.

You pretend your dad is a good man.

You idealize your Kenyan roots and lie about having tight ones.

You create a whole tapestry of falsehoods about yourself — not only does it make you feel better about being abandoned, it gives you credibility with those who judge not on the content of your character but the color of your skin, the exotic nature of your past, the superficialities of diversity.

Hippie lefties, it turns out, are kinda biased against people with conventional upper middle class American backgrounds.

Barack Obama wasn’t born in Kenya.

Barack Obama didn’t have some tortured, hard-scrabble youth.

Barack Obama was a materially indulged, emotionally deprived typical American child of divorce.

It’s his conventionality that embarrasses him.

And that’s why he lied.

Obama Disrespects The Press, Not That There’s Anything Wrong With That

Why should President Obama respect the press? He knows they will do his bidding anyway. From the Washington Post:

The Press Trust of India, at Obama’s meeting with the Pakistani prime minister, reported, “In less than a minute, the pool was asked to leave.” The Yomiuri Shimbun correspondent found that she was “ushered out about 30 seconds” after arriving for Obama’s meeting with the Malaysian prime minister. A reporter with Turkey’s TRT-Turk went to Obama’s meeting with the president of Armenia, but “we had to leave the room again after less than 40 seconds.”

Even the Chinese president, Hu Jintao, was more talkative with the press than Obama. Michelle Jamrisko, with Japan’s Kyodo News, noted in her pool report that Hu, at his session with Obama, spoke to the Chinese media in Chinese, while Obama limited himself mostly to “say hello to the cameras” and “thank you everybody.”

Obama’s official schedule for Tuesday would have pleased China’s Central Committee. Excerpts: “The President will attend the Heads of Delegation working lunch. This lunch is closed press. . . . The President will meet with Prime Minster Erdogan of Turkey. This meeting is closed press. . . . The President will attend Plenary Session II of the Nuclear Security Summit. This session is closed press.”

Reporters, even those on the White House beat for two decades, said it was the most restricted set of such meetings they had ever seen. They complained to both the administration and White House Correspondents’ Association, which will discuss the matter Thursday with White House press secretary Robert Gibbs.

The restrictions have become a common practice for the Obama White House. When Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu came to the White House a couple of weeks ago, reporters were kept away. Soon after that, Obama signed an executive order on abortion, again without any coverage.

Over the weekend, Obama broke with years of protocol and slipped off to a soccer game without the “protective” pool that is always in the vicinity of the president in case the unthinkable occurs. Obama joked about it later to Pakistan’s prime minister, saying reporters “were very upset.”

In “bilateral” meetings with foreign leaders, presidents usually take questions, or at least trade statements. But at most of Obama’s, there were only written “readouts.” Canada: “The president and the prime minister noted the enduring strength of our bilateral partnership.” India: “The two leaders vowed to continue to strengthen the robust relationship between the people of their countries.” Pakistan: “President Obama began by noting that he is very fond of Pakistan.”

And for all the respect President Bush showed the press, look what it got him.

But the issue for Obama is deeper. He just doesn’t respect Freedom of the Press or the Constitution all that much. It’s more fundamental than being a complete narcissist and not wanting to deal with uncomfortable questions or restricting an environment that is not 100% controlled–although those are big factors.

All Presidents want to control message. That’s nothing new. President Obama doesn’t feel the need to even share a message when it doesn’t suit him. And so, in utter contempt for American notions of freedom of the press, he doesn’t.

CNN Poll: Any GOP Candidate Nearly Beats President Obama

This CNN poll came out with great fanfare because it put Huckabee ahead of Romney and Palin. But when all three of these folks are put up against President Obama, this is the result:

What about the hypothetical general election matchup in 2012 against President Obama?

The poll shows Obama topping Romney 53 percent to 45 percent, beating Huckabee 54 percent to 45 percent, defeating Gingrich 55 percent to 43 percent and topping Palin 55 percent to 42.

“It is important to remember that at this stage of the game, candidate matchups are largely driven by name recognition, and at least a quarter of all Americans are unfamiliar with Romney, Huckabee and Gingrich. As a result, Obama has an 8- to-12-point edge over each of them in hypothetical matchups,” adds Holland. “But in a previous CNN poll, Obama managed no better than a tie against an unnamed Republican.”

But there is something more than name recognition at work in Obama’s big lead over Palin.

“Palin is almost as well known as Obama, but the general public appears to have some doubts about what they have seen of her so far,” says Holland.

Hmmm…. Well, for being so unqualified, she’s almost neck in neck with Huckabee and Romney and that’s very interesting.

She has a couple years to demonstrate her qualifications. And if things get bad enough, her optimistic attitude might well be enough.

Meanwhile, We STILL Don’t Know What President Obama Was Up To When He Disappeared For A Couple Hours?

Where was President Obama, since he wasn’t at his daughter’s soccer game, and why isn’t the press asking?

What’s more concerning is that no one can confirm if the Secret Service even accompanied Obama on his adventure. Furthermore, let’s look at the elapsed time. If the president left the White House at 9:20AM as reported, according to Mapquest, it takes about sixteen minutes to get from the White House to 40th and Chesapeake NW, bringing his arrival time to the field at 9:36AM or so. But then he would have had to leave the field at the latest at 10:00AM to return to the White House at the documented time of 10:17AM. So he spent about twenty minutes at the game? When did the game end? That time is vague as well.

With all of the technology that people have — iPhones, Blackberries — not one person took a photo of Obama? And the press didn’t get a shot of him getting into his vehicle? Obama loves the cameras, and this is what he looks like at his daughter’s soccer game.

Even three days later, there are still no pictures of the president from Saturday’s game. The USA just disarmed to Russia, Poland’s president and 95 others were killed hours before, and there were many international leaders in Washington, D.C. for the nuclear summit set to begin on Monday, April 12.

And we shouldn’t raise even more questions on his whereabouts? According to the MSM, the answer is yes.

We still don’t know the answer to questions number one: Where was he?

We do know the answer to question number two: They are President Obama’s lap and attack dogs.

Democrats To America: You’ll See…. Fuuuuuuuu….

You know how when you do something you really want to do, but you know your spouse/children/boss/friend is going to friggin’ hate your ever-living-guts when you do it, and it seems like a good idea because you want to do it so bad, and then you do it and then they hate you, and the doing it, while transiently satisfying, does not at all reach the happiness you would have had if you’d had just sucked it up and done what your spouse/children/boss/friend wanted you to do, but man, you were so sick of going along with them, because if they just knew what was best (like you do), they’d see it your way, but they don’t see it your way and now they are super pissed because they’re forced to do it your way, but most likely that temporary win is going to be a big lose, because you’re now divorced/disowned/fired/shunned? You know that feeling?

And then, you know how big of an ass you feel because, man, it felt so good, to do what you wanted. I mean, you’ve wanted to do this for years, because you just knew it would be so cool, historic even, and the haters always tried to bring you down. So now, that you’ve done it and yeah, it was great, but everyone hates you and you’re kinda alone in the greatness of it all, which is so fucking unfair, so completely unfair. I mean, why don’t these people just get it? This was good for you and if they knew what was good for them, it’d be good for them too.

And now, they are kicking your ass out? You’re a visionary! How can they be so stupid? But man, they hate you. So completely do they hate you. It’s surprising, really, how totally they hate you. Kinda scary. Deep down, you thought they’d let it slide. You know the eye-roll, or maybe a night on the couch or a a “day off”. Shit. Why do they have to be so dramatic. It’s not THAT big of a deal, well, it’s kinda a big deal, kinda a big fucking deal, but still, not THAT big of a deal.

They’ll come around. They will. A$$holes. Why can’t they just get it? Why does it have to be their way? Well, not this time, suckahs! It’s my way! How do you like me now? How. Do. You. Like. Me. NOW? Yeah, that’s right. I’m king of the world, man. I did this. I enjoyed it. And I’m not going to let small-minded people like you, who just don’t get the vision, to rain on my parade. You’re all psychotic anyway…and what about those violent tendencies? You don’t have to be so mad. Simmer down. Be civil, at least. Yeah, you’re stuck doing it my way (stifled giggle) but, still it’s the best way.

Pension Funding Levels: All Depends On The Market

President Obama has become President Wall Street because even he realizes that his union buddies will be s.o.l. if the market tanks. Why? Because he knows that pensions depend on the stability and health of the market.

Pensions go to union members and depending on your state, some unions are in worse health than others. Chart here is very good. So, President Obama talks out of both sides of his mouth.

On the one hand he labels Wall Street evil, but even he knows that if everything implodes, his union buds will be in a heap of trouble.

The Greater Good Means Too Bad For The Children

Senator Lieberman tried yet again to save D.C.’s school children and it fell on the deaf progressive ears of President Obama. Why does President Obama hate children? Why does he treat his own girls one way and act with willful indifference to needy minority kids going to the same school as them?

Read this and be outraged:

Right now, today, some 1,900 Washington children are sitting in calm, safe, orderly classrooms in neighborhoods other than their own, because of this program. The cost, in the scheme of things, is laughably small.

Yet congressional Democrats and Obama are killing it. This week, Lieberman’s colleagues voted down his attempt to attach a voucher-saving amendment to a larger piece of legislation.
It is a scandal. That the children already enrolled in the scheme will be able to finish 12th grade with the scholarship is small comfort; why only them? Why not their younger brothers and sisters, who will not have the same chance? Why leave these children behind?

When you hear liberals talk about loving the little children, keep in mind that, as usual, they only love some children–mostly their own.

That’s what happens when decisions are made for the greater good. The ruling class gets one set of health care, education, tax break, government deal, home, car, etc. and then the regular folks get what the “greater good” gets–which is usually nothing.

Obama Goes Belly Up

How much do people hate health care reform? They hate it so much they’re starting to hate President Obama because he won’t shut up about it. Gallup has the distressing news for President Obama: 47% disapprove. 46% approve.

Three more weeks of health care haggling? That should put President Obama over 50% disapproval or more.

I’ve heard people say that approval goes up as soon as it passes. Um, I doubt it.
